ELETTR-IC

I have the biggest crush on Elettra Wiedemann.

When I say this to most folks, they usually ask me who she is. I’ll save you the trouble of jumping onto Wikipedia if you don’t know either, but I believe it’s only a matter of time before she’s a household name.

She’s a model, a medical scientist, and the co-owner of a charity project organization. She’s the daughter of the incredible Isabella Rossellini and the granddaughter of the legendary Ingrid Bergman. And she happens to be one of the most beautiful girls in the entire world.

I first noticed her while I was out shopping with my husband Jordan. We were at the makeup counter at Macy’s, and I saw her ad for Trésor In Love by Lancôme. Her face is so different, so interesting, so likeable, that I asked Jordan to take a photo of the ad for me, and when we got home, I Googled until I found out who she was. I was so happy to discover that she’s the daughter/granddaughter of two of my favorite ladies. It’s wonderful that such beauty and sweetness is being passed down through the generations of this lovely family.

More reasons for me to love her: Elettra has modeled for my all-time favorite clothing line, Salvatore Ferragamo.  I also discovered that she inherited scoliosis from her mother and had to wear a back brace for 23 hours a day from the ages of twelve to seventeen. This amazes me because twelve to seventeen is such an important time when girls form ideas about themselves, and she was in a back brace all day long. Yet she’s now modeling with the world in her back pocket. I love it.

She’s just so achingly gorgeous, and fresh, and different. I adore the girl and can’t wait to see where she goes.
