HOW did I not know that Amanda Seyfried did a cover of “Little Red Riding Hood” by Sam The Sham And The Pharaohs?!? Maybe it’s because I never saw her Red Riding Hood movie…but still, I can’t believe this one got by me. Her version is so soft and pretty. I also have not seen Mamma Mia!, so I actually didn’t know she could even really sing. But this is lovely. I like Amanda.
Buuuuuuuuuut as much as I like her and her sweet little cover, the Pharaohs version has been one of my favorite songs as long as I can remember. I literally think my father has been singing it to me since I was born. And suddenly there’s little Amanda, doing a beautiful cover of it. Maybe more people will actually know it now, instead of looking at me strangely when I bring it up. (“There’s a 60s song about Little Red Riding Hood?…I think you made that up, Tori.”)
