Stuart Sutcliffe and Astrid Kirchherr: friends of the Beatles, these two artists fell in love at first sight. Stuart was infatuated with Astrid and asked her friends what her favorite colors, films, books, and painters were in order to win her heart. They fell madly in love and became inseparable, only to have their engagement broken by Stuart’s abrupt death two years later, when he collapsed in the middle of an art class and had to be rushed to the hospital.
He died in Astrid’s arms, and she still refers to him as “the love of my life.”
