WEDDING DREAM

by Tori on April 24, 2012

Yesterday I discovered a new obsession—Daughters of Simone, a San Francisco based boutique that specializes in vintage wedding gowns and accessories. I’d recommend this shop in a heartbeat to anyone I know who’s getting married. It’s filled with such lovely things.

As a vintage lover and seller, of course I’m biased toward gowns that are older, but I think I’d be in love with this shop even if I knew nothing about vintage. These dresses are nothing short of breathtaking. It makes me want to go back in time and get married again, just so I can wear one of these masterpieces. I guess I’ll have to settle for wearing one of their gorgeous reception dresses on my ten-year anniversary instead.

Built on the concept that wedding gowns should have more variety and imagination—and that marriage should be viewed as an “extraordinary decision”—Daughters of Simone offers their brides the chance to wear something as unique as they are: a dress that is classic, beautiful, and one-of-a-kind. Their shop is partially named after the philosopher Simone de Beauvoir, who inspires them to “go against conventional expectations to strike out…with unusual ambition and strength.”

I think that they are doing just that.
