WHAT I ROARED, 9/22/12

WHAT I WORE:
1980s Anthea Necklace

WHERE I WORE IT:
Lambie’s birthday party, downtown L.A.

My beautiful friend Genevieve Lamb celebrated her 28th birthday last night by throwing a fancy, dress-up soirée in her amazing downtown loft. Lambie is an incredible makeup artist, and has modeled for They Roared Vintage in our “Twin Roar” lookbook. Usually, the thought of going to a party where I don’t know anyone makes me want to run and hide in the nearest closet, but last night was a blast. Lambie and her boyfriend Jeremy are some of my favorite folks, and the people there were warm and nice to be around.

I even got to do a re-enactment for my husband of Butterfly’s lap dance from Death Proof when “Down in Mexico” started playing.

When Amber brought this necklace to the shop, I liked it, but chunky gold isn’t really my thing. I thought it was pretty, but I never planned to wear it. HOWEVER. This thing is addictive. It’s a lariat necklace, which means you can wear it loads of different ways, since it doesn’t close. And it looks good with everything. I love the tassels and how it just sort of ties an outfit together. It’s long and beautiful and surprising.

I wore this pink lace dress with cut-out hips, and when I arrived at the party, I laughed when I saw that the birthday girl herself had chosen a dress with the same cut-outs. Flesh twins! Just another reason to love her. And CHECK OUT her shoes. Come on!

Happy birthday, sweet Lambie.
