WHAT AMBER WORE:
1950s I Won’t Stop You Top
WHAT I WORE:
1950s Secret Cocktail Blouse and 1970s Majorette Boots, coming soon to TRV
WHERE WE WORE IT:
The premiere of The Master at ArcLight Hollywood…with Quentin Tarantino
Okay, so we weren’t WITH Quentin Tarantino, but he sure was there. Everyone I went with saw him, but I didn’t get to. I had to go use the restroom. Darn my bladder.
It’s sort of a tradition for Amber, myself, and our husbands to go see the premiere of any Paul Thomas Anderson movie. We love that guy. So Topher did some sleuthy research and somehow got us into this early premiere showing of The Master at ArcLight’s Cinerama Dome. The film is set in the 1950s, so I thought it would be nice to wear a couple They Roared Vintage pieces from the 50s to honor the time period. Amber and I didn’t want to look way too out of place, so we grabbed a couple tops instead of going all out on flowery 50s dresses with heels.
I’ve always loved our Secret Cocktail Blouse. It’s light, comfy, and so pretty. Plus, I like things that are see-through. Sorry, but I do. This is definitely one of our best tops. Peter Pan collar, lovely color, pleats ’n lace…it’s perfect.
I also wore our brand-new Majorette Boots. I am REALLY tempted to keep these. I’m in love. They got complimented all night, and they’re perfect for autumn.

“Our I Won’t Stop You Top is wonderful because it’s sophisticated and sexy. The high collar and beautiful pastel pattern on this shirt are oh so classy. The silky fabric drapes nicely and is a little sheer, which shows just enough of your silhouette to make it alluring. Plus, I feel like I’m going back in time when I hear the sound of the 50s metal zipper. Love it.” —Amber

As for the movie, I thought it was powerful, with a great message. It was gorgeously written and perfectly acted. No surprise with Paul Thomas Anderson at the directing helm. P.T., you are a master yourself.
