I still think that the striking imagery of Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet is beautiful and interesting, even after fifteen years. Some may find the movie overcooked, but anyone would have to admit that in 1996 (and I have to say, even in 2012), the style was bold, new, exciting, and complete eye candy.
I think that it still holds up, and I think it will continue to for the years to come.
