Every artist should see 8 1/2 at least once.
Besides the visual feast, the story deals with what to do when you feel as though you want to completely give up on your art—when life comes between you and what you’re trying to put in front of the world.
In this case, it happens to a philandering womanizer, but it can also happen to those who just want to be philandering womanizers. Which basically means everyone. Just kidding, but it is a gorgeous film that should be viewed by movie lovers along with artists.
A strong lead, beautiful women, relatable characters, a sad story, sweeping shots, dreamlike imagery: this movie IS cinema.
